The river, billabongs, springs and dams
The brumbies have a permanent water supply including the Cullen River and Bonrook Creek, a few natural springs and some dams which maintain water throughout the dry season.
5 The Cullen River, which flows well in the wet season transverses the sanctuary, running mostly in a 5 southerly direction. Above left: A waterhole in the Cullen River with Pandana Palms seen at the right hand end of the water hole. Above right: Some sections of the river exhibit large areas of sand during the dry season.
5 Another waterhole in the Cullen River.

( A billabong is a water hole adjacent a river or stream which often fills up when a river or stream floods. Sometimes billabongscan remain full by water seeping underground from the adjacent river or stream. )
