Brumbies for adoption
On occasions domestic horses rescued
from going to the abattoir will become available for sale (not adoption)
Please email or phone Lyall and Kristine Sempf
if you have any questions regarding brumbies for adoption, or would like to
personally view these brumbies. An
adoption fee of $300.00 applies for adult brumbies, plus a castration fee
for males. The fee for foals is less,
and varies. These fees cover such costs as fuel for vehicles, transport charges,
feed, needles, worming and castration etc. Visit our "View our Newsletter
& Support Subscription Form; and Adoption Agreement"
page for adoption details. Brumbies for adoption are taken to the stage where
they can be led and have their feet picked up.
Please note that all names are given for identification purposes, and adopters
are free to rename their brumby.
The adopter can request title to the Brumby after one year if they
have demonstrated proper care for the adopted
Brumby during that time. There are no additional costs when obtaining
title. It is also possible to help our adoption programme by fostering brumbies.
Fostering involves the temporary housing, care and maintenance of a
brumby until a permanent home can be found through our adoption programme.
There are no foster fees.
Some brumbies are homed. If the owner of a property where brumbies
have been trapped decides to keep a brumby, then this is called 'homing'.
